Tucson Attractions Passport is for You!
Innkeepers Beth and Bob Miner usually purchase one each year, because we love to return to our favorite attractions, including Kartchner Caverns. The Passport costs $15. and is good September 15, 2009 to September 15, 2010, and since Kartchner Caverns admission is $18.95/person, you are actually saving money on the first ticket and receiving the second for free! If that sounds like government accounting, I’m sorry! The Tucson Symphony Orchestra offers BOGO savings also, so if you are fortunate enough to be staying at Jeremiah Inn Bed and Breakfast when one of their great winter performances is taking place, you have a great night on the town all set for you.
Ask about the Tucson Attractions Passport when you make your reservation and we can tell you more about what is included in its savings. See you soon!
Bed-Making of Another Sort
Another Bed in the Bed and Breakfast
Innkeeper, Bob Miner, is a man of many talents. Shown is a doll bed he made for granddaughter, Lucy, at Christmas. Constructed of redwood and finished with a warm stain, the bed comfortably sleeps Annabelle the baby doll (mattress, blanket and pillows not shown). It is sturdy enough to act as brother Joshua’s step stool on occasion.
B-36 Bomber added to Pima Air and Space Museum
A must see addition to the Pima Air and Space Museum is a B-36J Peacemaker. This incredible plane, the largest bomber ever built, has a 230′ wingspan, with 3 pusher propeller engines and 2 jet engines on each wing. As the last piston engine powered bomber, 383 were built between 1947 and 1954. All were out of service by early 1959 and many of these planes were stored at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, in Tucson, until they were recycled. There are only 4 of these planes left, and Tucson’s Pima Air and Space Museum is fortunate to have one in their collection. We, at Jeremiah Inn, were fortunate to have heard stories about the B-36 from a guest who had been a trainer of pilots for this plane.
Mount Lemmon Marathon in October 2010
Serious runners will want to plan on serious training before tackling the Mount Lemmon Marathon on October 17, 2010, but what a thrill, what spectacular scenery, and what an accomplishment for those who choose either the 1/2 or full marathon! Jeremiah Inn Bed and Breakfast plans to offer their participating guests transportation to and from the bus loading area and after their soak in the whirlpool, a celebratory breakfast at dinner, since the 4:30am departure for the bus zone will preclude a big breakfast that morning.
Running clubs are encouraged to call soon and book their group of runners into Jeremiah Inn. With four guests rooms (one is a 2-room suite) and eight separate beds, a pool, and beautiful views, the inn is ideal. We are located 1 mile from the start of the course and a great place to stay while training. The road will be open to runners on race day for 10 hours and with the 6000 foot elevation gain it will be an extraordinary race!
The October date insures ideal weather at the base and top. This photo was taken near Summerhaven last October, so fall color will be evident in the aspens.
Jeremiah Inn has Mr.Clean in residence
Bob is the B & B's secret weapon in keeping Jeremiah Inn clean!
Jeremiah Inn was built in 1995 and is celebrating its 15th Season of serving the best guests in the world! A frequently heard remark is, “This place is so clean”. When you hear the evening news run a story on “health dangers in your hotel room”, these innkeepers cringe and say, “If only they had chosen to stay with us”. Between the vacuum, the cleaning caddy, the paint brush, and a willingness to work hard, the innkeepers do their best to be sure you enjoy staying in the cleanest place in town. If you are interested in reading the reviews we’ve received, you will find that our guests appreciate the effort. Let us know if you see something needing our attention, and we will be happy to respond.
Jeremiah Inn’s 15th Birthday is Coming!
Where did the time go??! On October 7, 1995, Jeremiah Inn Bed and Breakfast opened its doors to greet its first guests and guests have been coming ever since, to our delight. As we approach the 15th anniversary, we wanted to celebrate by giving guests a gift, and so we are rolling back prices to 1995, $85./nt for any bookings made for the nights of October 7, 8, or 9, 2010. Call soon and mention “Birthday Party Special” to receive the discount.
Mt. Lemmon Marathon Nears
There are a few rare athletes who run marathons. There are even fewer who run marathons all uphill! The Mt. Lemmon Marathon will be Sunday, October 17, 2010. This one-of-a-kind race takes competitors 26 miles, uphill, over an elevation gain of 6000 feet, from 2750′ to almost 9000′. Jeremiah Inn is located 1 mile from the starting line. It’s not too soon to plan your stay for 2011. Cheers!
